Zygoma Implant Workshop
An international Zygoma surgery workshop was organized in Rajan Dental Institute,Chennai in collaboration with AOMI on Nov 3rd and 4th, 2025. A surgical procedure done during that workshop demonstrating double zygoma on one side of the maxilla, a single zygoma on the other side placed by the newly described buttress zygoma technique (Rajan et al) and a regular implant placed as a palato-nasal implant is edited and presented here. This new approach to rehabilitate the highly resorbed maxillae without any distal cantilever and without pterygoid implants will be a game-changer in maxillary graftless dento-alveolar rehabilitation.

Implant Surgery on Patients (ISOP) – Special Hands-on
ISOP is available for a limited number of participants on Day 3 and 4. Maximum of 2 participants per day.
These delegates will place 2 to 4 Zygoma implants each, on patients provided by Rajan Dental Institute. This will be done under general anaesthesia or IV sedation and monitored closely by faculty members.
International delegates who wish to do the ISOP program will need to apply at least 4 weeks in advance to obtain temporary registration with the regional dental council.
